Container inukshuk highlights Richmond industries

2/19/2010 12:00:00 AM

Towering six stories in the air, an inukshuk constructed from nine shipping containers forms the symbol of the 2010 Winter Games in Richmond.

The structure is located along the route to the Richmond Olympic Oval as part of the city’s Richmond Revealed program designed to showcase local leading industries. Several local companies donated land, time, materials and expertise to build the structure of 10-, 20- and 40-foot containers, including Big Dog Containers, Coast 2000 Terminals and Team Transport. Learn more about the 52-foot tall container inukshuk by reading the fact sheet.
