September 10, 2009

Message to Customers and Stakeholders

Re: New PMV organisation structure

Port Metro Vancouver's new organisation structure continues the process of aligning our organisation so the combined team, and indeed all of the staff of Port Metro Vancouver, can take on the challenge of leading the Port forward and can work closely with all of our stakeholders to ensure Port Metro Vancouver fully understands, and works to deliver, your needs for the Gateway.

Chris Badger, Chief Operating Officer, has responsibility for all land and marine operations, safety and security and has leadership responsibility for Port Metro Vancouver’s sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility portfolio including environmental activities and communications and government, community and First Nations relations.

As announced previously, Graham Kee will be taking on the role of VP Olympic Operations and he will be reporting to Chris. Also reporting to Chris will be Darrell Desjardin – Director Environmental Programs; Yoss Leclerc – Director Operations and Security; Duncan Wilson – Director Communications and Government and First Nations relations; and Fiona Smith – Director Major Contract Negotiations. Fiona will leave the organisation to pursue other opportunities in September 2010.

Allan Baydala, Chief Financial Officer, has responsibility for all Port Metro Vancouver’s financing, financial control and reporting, business analysis, planning, and risk management activities. He also has responsibility for the legal and corporate secretariat function and Information Services.

Reporting to Allan will be Angela Louie – Controller; Dean Readman – Director Legal Services and Corporate Secretary; and Larry Sawrenko – Director Finance and Treasurer.

We will be recruiting to fill the vacancy of Director Information Services, which will report to Allan, but in the interim Larry Sawrenko will act as Director Information Services in addition to his responsibilities as Director Finance and Treasurer.

Tom Corsie, Vice President Real Estate, has responsibility for all of Port Metro Vancouver’s Real Estate management activities and asset engineering and maintenance activities.   Reporting to Tom will be Jim Crandles – Director Real Estate and Tim Glasheen – Director Engineering and Maintenance.

Christine Dioszeghy, Vice President Human Resources, has responsibility for all of Port Metro Vancouver’s Human Resources and organisational development activities. The Human Resources team will thus continue to report to Christine, as well as Elaine Wong – Director Internal Audit. Elaine will also continue to have a reporting line to the Audit Committee and a dotted line to myself.

Peter Xotta, Vice President Planning and Development, will have responsibility for customer relations and trade development, and an integrated land and supply chain planning and development department. Peter will also have responsibility for project delivery. Reporting to Peter will be Scott Galloway – Director Trade Development and Gilles Assier – Director Project Management. We will be recruiting to fill the vacancy of Director Planning and Development that will report to Peter but in the interim Mark Griggs will take acting responsibility for Development and Carlos Felip will take acting responsibility for Planning.

We look forward to working with you and continuing to develop Port Metro Vancouver as a key component of one of North America’s leading gateways.

Robin Silvester
President and Chief Executive Officer
