Community consultation

Consultation, engagement and information sharing for the proposed project will take place in three phases: 

1. Conceptual design

   January 31 - February 21, 2011 | A community consultation program was implemented to share project objectives and planning information, identify community interests, and obtain input and feedback to assist in developing and refining project designs.
   
   
   • Between January 31 and February 21, 2011, Port Metro Vancouver, in conjunction with TransLink and the City of North Vancouver, undertook community consultation for the proposed Low Level Road Improvement Project. The purpose of the consultation was to share information about project designs and planning, and to obtain community feedback to assist in developing and refining the project.

   • Feedback received through the consultation program has been summarized in a Consultation Summary Report. Port Metro Vancouver has responded to all community input in its Input Consideration Memorandum.

2. Preliminary design

   April 4 - May 25, 2011 | Community engagement and information distribution activities were implemented to share updated project information, further identify community interests, and obtain input to assist in developing and refining project designs.
   
   
   
   • Port Metro Vancouver and the City of North Vancouver undertook additional community engagement and information distribution activities as part of the Preliminary Design stage for the Proposed Low Level Road Improvement Project to further identify community interests, and obtain input to assist in developing and refining project designs.

3. Detailed design

   January - November 2012 | The Project was approved by the City of North Vancouver Council on June 18, 2012. Traffic management and construction phasing consultation occured in August. Consultation on aesthetic features occured in September/October 2012. Visit Port Talk to find more information.
