Old Port Mann Bridge Demolition

Project status

Permit issued

Port Metro Vancouver issued a project permit to the Transportation Investment Corporation (TI Corp) for the demolition of the old Port Mann Bridge. As outlined in the permit, the proposed work must commence by October 31, 2013 and be completed no later than October 2014.

About the project

The demolition works will include: 

  • Dredging of a work area of 15110 square metres 
  • Installation of three sections of new work trestle
  • Demolition and removal of the superstructure, substructure, piers, and footings of the old Port Mann Bridge down to the Fraser River mudline

In addition, works around the Port Mann Bridge may require shipping zone closures. Notice of closures and alternate zones will be posted on a weekly basis. Port Metro Vancouver previously issued a project permit to the Ministry of Transportation to construct the new Port Mann Bridge
