About the project

As part of the Seaspan Shipyard Modernization Program, Seaspan is conducting works within Port Metro Vancouver and within the municipalities of the District of North Vancouver and City of North Vancouver.

On January 30, 2013, Seaspan revised their application to Port Metro Vancouver. The applicant has proposed modifications to the load-out pier and has removed the Pemberton Avenue parking lot improvements from the project scope. An application for the proposed parking lot improvements may be submitted by the applicant at a later date.

The proposed works under the Port’s permit review process include:

  • Construction of a 53.56 m long x 31.8 m wide concrete load-out pier through the infilling of a caisson and sheet pile wall structure.

As part of Port’s project permit review process, Seaspan has undertaken municipal and First Nations consultation for the project. The project was referred to the District of North Vancouver for comment.
