Gateway import container forecasting
Port Metro Vancouver’s Import Container Vessel Forecast project is close to launch. Working closely with Transport Canada, the Port has developed a system to provide port users, including terminals and railways with a 10 – 14 day view of container volume bound for the Vancouver Gateway. This extended forecast will improve operational planning and enhance reliability for all those moving container cargo through the Vancouver Gateway. Port Metro Vancouver has targeted June 30th as the “go-live” date for the project.
