Berth Soundings

Soundings Charts

Berth soundings for Port Metro Vancouver were collected during 2005, with the exception of Canada Place (2004) and Roberts Bank (2003), and will be updated as new information becomes available. 

There are three versions of the soundings charts available:

1. Non-colour-coded soundings charts

   Include depth contours and numbers representing depths in metres below chart datum and are best for printing in black and white. 

2. Colour-coded charts

   Supplement the regular charts with a shaded red to blue background (red = shallow, blue = deep).

3. Orthophoto charts

   Supplement the regular charts with an aerial photo background.  

The soundings charts are published in Adobe PDF format and are optimized for printing on 11x17 (ledger) paper. The ‘Colour-coded’ and ‘Orthophoto’ charts are a better choice for colour printing. From this page, it is possible to view individual soundings charts, or to download a complete soundings book.
